Broken Garage Door Springs
Garage door springs help open and close the door. If they break off or don’t function properly, you might need to call in an expert to help you. The springs are a very important part of your garage door which means you mustn’t take any risks with them. If you try to fix them yourself you might hurt yourself and further damage the door. This will only make things difficult for you. You need the correct information to ensure that the door springs you install or fix are the best fit for your door. There are two different types of door springs:
Extension Springs
These springs are on the sides of the door attached to a track, a cable, and a pulley system. The cables and pulley system are then attached to the bottom of the door. This allows you to open the door as the springs provide it the power. If the spring breaks, you will not be able to open and close the door. If you try to do it on your own and are unable to install them properly, you might make matters worse.
Torsion Springs
This type of spring fixes on a mounted bar that has drums on the end. The cables are then attached to the bottom bracket of the door and that mechanism helps open and close the door.
