It is a different job from a replacement. The door has to be clamped and leveled, the cable rewound into the correct groove, and both drums set to identical tension so the door lifts square. Both Sides, Then Set Level
Cables go back in as a pair. Both went on the same day, both have run the same count of cycles, and both have stood in the same wet floor every winter, so replacing one and leaving the survivor just books you a second call. Drums, bottom brackets and bearing plates get inspected while the door is apart.
The door is then set so the gap along the header is even end to end and the bottom seal meets the floor across its full width. We cycle it by hand, check the balance, and reset the opener limits, since a door that has been running crooked usually has force settings that were quietly compensating for it.
