Reading the Brick Before Choosing a Finish
Morton Grove brick runs warm — buff, blond, and the yellow-brown common brick you see across the 1950s subdivisions. Bright white doors go grey-looking against that within a few seasons, and stark black can read as a hole punched in the wall on a low elevation. Mid-tones, warm greys and woodgrain finishes generally sit better.

Glass, Insulation and the Attached-Garage Compromise
A row of glass in the top section transforms a blank elevation and lights a garage that otherwise has one small side window. On an attached bay sharing a wall with heated space, insulated glazing and a genuine thermal break in the section are worth specifying rather than accepting whatever the base option is.
Every one of these choices has a weight consequence. Glass, timber cladding and thicker insulation all add mass, and that mass has to be counterbalanced correctly. The design conversation and the spring calculation are the same conversation.
