Where it has rusted blank, or the door has been changed since the springs went on, we weigh the door and size from that instead.
Doors carrying two springs get two. The survivor has done identical work to the one that failed and is measured in weeks behind it. After fitting, the drums are re-set, cable tension is evened across both sides, and the door is tested by hand with the opener disconnected. Left halfway, it should stay halfway.
