The spring snapped while the door was up. Is it safe to walk under it?
No. Keep everyone out from under the opening, and do not run the opener to bring it down, because the motor is not holding that weight safely either. Leave the door exactly where it is and tell us it is up on a broken spring when you call.
A car reversed into the door. Repair or replacement?
It depends where it landed. A single dented section can often be swapped if the model is still made and the tracks and rollers came through it intact.
