Winding, and why the turn count is not negotiable
Springs are wound with steel bars, a quarter turn at a time, to a count worked out from the door height and the drum diameter. Once the count is set, the drums are locked at matched positions, cable tension is equalised, and the door is tested by hand at waist height with the opener disconnected.
