A door that has left its rail is generally propped on a bracket, a bent hinge and whatever the roller has jammed against. Hitting the wall control again drives the full output of the opener into all three at once.

Then comes the cause, which is the part that stops the repair repeating. Bearings seized inside a roller, flats worn onto the wheels, a flag bracket loosened where the vertical meets the horizontal, ceiling hangers that no longer grip old joists, a seal catching on a lifted slab. Balance sits at the end of that list and is often at the front of the problem, because tired springs make a door lean on its own steel through every cycle.
