Unheated Detached Garages Are Hard on Rollers

While the rollers are out we run a hand along the track for the flat spot or pinch that caused the wear, check the hinges for elongated holes, and confirm the vertical tracks are still plumb. Fitting new rollers into a bent track just wears out the new rollers.

How do I tell whether the noise is the rollers or the opener?
Pull the release cord and move the door by hand. If the grinding or rattling is still there with the opener out of the loop, it is the rollers, hinges or track. If the door runs quietly by hand and only the motor is loud, the noise is coming from the opener's drive.
Can rollers be replaced one at a time as they fail?
